ONETOX
Onetox is an award-winning reggae band from the Solomon Islands who are pioneers of the Solomon Reggae genre and considered legends in the island reggae music scene for being the first group from the South Pacific to go viral and have their music break through internationally.
The band members all grew up together as local street boys in the same notorious neighborhood in Solomon Islands. Their talents were discovered by Martin Matai, the head of the famous Shefram Studios in Honiara, who first brought them together to sing as teenagers. What started off as fun and uploading songs to the internet, soon turned into millions of streams of their music on YouTube – officially birthing the group “Onetox”
The group burst onto the scene in 2008 with their ground-breaking viral smash hit song “Ramukanji” which took the Pacific by storm, hitting no.1 on charts in many countries. Over the years they have released a series of successful albums and more hit singles such as “Everything”, “No Solou” and “High Grade”, which has led to their music being streamed over 15M times on Youtube, them winning multiple music awards in Solomon Islands, PNG and most recently in France and sold out concerts across Melanesia, Polynesia, Micronesia and in Asia.
Recently their “Ramukanji (remix)” was selected to be the official theme song of US travel reality show “SV Delos”, which has garnered over 90M streams of their episodes on YouTube, birthing new life into their hit song and exposing the band to new audiences around the world.
Though the band has been quiet lately, they are currently working on their comeback album which will feature international collaborations with renown reggae and dancehall artists from Jamaica and is set to be their best album yet.
The band has had a number of different members over the years, however this album will feature core foundational members Mossa, Kay, Dehvande and Sio.
